Changan Elementary School Agri-Food Education Program

At Changan Elementary School, located in the countryside surrounded by farms, we believe it's important for our students to learn about where their food comes from. Our agri-food education program is all about getting hands-on experience and understanding the journey of food from the farm to the table.

1. Seed Surprises

In this activity, students will go on a fun hunt around the school to find and learn about different kinds of seeds. They’ll map out where they find seeds, sparking their curiosity about how these tiny seeds grow into plants we see every day.

2. Smart Planting

Students will get their hands dirty by planting vegetables using friendly farming methods. They’ll track how the plants grow, learn about the different seasons, and experience the hard work that goes into farming—from planting in the spring to harvesting in the fall.

3. Tasty Creations

In this part of the program, students will dive into cooking by coming up with recipes using local ingredients like Zhutan’s famous rice and green onions. They’ll learn how to make delicious dishes that show off the fresh produce from our area and understand the idea of "farm to table" by bringing their meals to life.

4. Food Treasure Map

Students will create a "Food Treasure Map" highlighting the special foods and farms around Zhutan. From strawberries to mushrooms, they’ll discover what makes our hometown’s agriculture unique and share the story of our local farming traditions.

By taking part in these activities, Changan Elementary students will not only learn about farming but also develop a deep appreciation for the food on their plates. They’ll discover the importance of seeds, the care needed to grow plants, the joy of cooking with local ingredients, and the rich farming traditions of their community. Our goal is to help students become more aware of the world around them and understand the value of the food they eat.

長安國小食農教育課程

長安國小位於鄉間,四周被農田環繞。我們認為,學生應該了解食物的來源。我們的食農教育課程讓學生動手體驗,了解從農田到餐桌的食物之旅。

1. 種子的驚喜

在這個活動中,學生們將在校園裡進行有趣的尋寶活動,找到並學習不同種類的種子。他們將繪製找到種子的地圖,激發他們對這些小種子如何長成植物的好奇心。

2. 聰明的種植

學生們將親自參與種植蔬菜,使用友善的耕作方法。他們將記錄植物的生長過程,學習不同季節的農事,並親身體驗農業的辛苦—從春天播種到秋天收穫。

3. 美味創意

在這部分的課程中,學生們將學習烹飪,設計使用在地食材的食譜,例如竹塘有名的米和青蔥。他們將學習如何將新鮮的當地食材變成美味的佳餚,並通過親手製作,理解「從產地到餐桌」的概念。

4. 食育藏寶圖

學生們將創作一張「食育藏寶圖」,介紹竹塘周邊的特產和農場。從草莓到洋菇,他們將發現我們家鄉農業的獨特之處,並分享竹塘在地的農業傳統故事。

通過參與這些活動,長安國小的學生不僅會學習農業知識,還會深刻體會食物的珍貴。他們將探索種子的奧秘,了解植物生長的過程,享受用在地食材烹飪的樂趣,並認識家鄉豐富的農業傳統。我們的目標是幫助學生更了解身邊的世界,並珍惜他們所吃的食物。
